I’m a journalist, author and blogger who now writes for TV. As a longtime staff writer and foreign correspondent for TIME magazine, I covered social trends, news and business in the U.S. and Asia. My book about the year I spent crashing funerals was a Barnes & Noble Discover Great New Writers pick. I’ve blogged about women, race and work for Time.com and True/Slant. In 2010 I entered a development deal with Warner Bros. Television. I was born and raised in Kobe, Japan, and live in New Jersey with my family.
